Orthodontics deals with the prevention, detection and treatment of malocclusions of the jaws and teeth. Orthodontic treatment is most commonly used to align and straighten teeth and help position them with regard to a patient’s bite, while also aiming to improve dental health. The earlier a malocclusion is treated, the fewer problems it causes in old age. Therefore, children are often treated during the primary and mixed dentition in order to better control the growth of the jaw and the change of teeth. In this way, a harmonization of the facial profile and an optimal adjustment of the dentition can be achieved. Malocclusions in adult patients can also be corrected, despite completed growth. At our own in-house laboratory, we design various braces under the aspects of functionality and aesthetic properties in order to provide our patients with the most comfortable and shortest possible wear.
